Intake drive
Forty-five minutes behind the wheel with an instructor, free, before you commit to anything. You find out where you actually are. We find out how to teach you.
Patient, precise driving instruction in Amsterdam. Manual, automatic, intensive, and a dedicated track for anxious learners.
Amsterdam has over two hundred driving schools. Most compete on price per lesson. We compete on how few lessons you need and how you feel in them.

71%
pass first time
The national first-time pass rate sits near 50 percent. Ours counts every learner we entered for a practical exam last year, including the ones we inherited halfway through.
You are not passed between three people who each teach the clutch a different way. Your instructor knows what you did badly six weeks ago and whether it is fixed.
07:00 to 21:00, six days a week, in 90 or 120 minute blocks. Shift workers and parents get first pick of the early and late slots.
When you are ready for the exam we say so. If that leaves lessons unused we refund them, because a package you did not need is not a sale we want.
Most people need one of the first two. The rest exist because we kept meeting learners nobody else had a shape for.
The full licence. Drive anything.
A category B licence with no restrictions. You learn clutch control on quiet residential streets before you touch a ring road, and you keep the same instructor from your first lesson to your exam.
Fewer things to think about at once.
Your licence carries code 78, which restricts you to automatic cars. Most learners reach exam standard noticeably faster because clutch work never competes for attention with reading the road.
Licence in weeks, not seasons.
Lessons run in daily blocks with your exam slot reserved before you start. It is demanding, and it only works if you can genuinely clear the diary, so we say no to people it would not suit.
You have the licence. You stopped driving.
For licence holders who have not driven in years, or who passed abroad and find Amsterdam a different proposition entirely. No exam at the end, just the point where you stop dreading the keys.
Merging at 100, without the adrenaline.
Focused sessions on the A10, A4 and A2. Slip roads, lane discipline, heavy goods traffic and the specific problem of merging when the gap is smaller than you would like.
Built for the people other schools rush.
Lessons are longer and quieter, with no commentary while you drive unless you ask for it. When it comes to the exam, CBR runs a dedicated faalangst examination with an examiner trained for it, and you can call a time-out mid-drive.
No franchisees and no subcontracted cars. Every instructor here is employed by KOERS, which is why we can promise you the same one every week.

Head instructor. Teaching since 2011.
Runs our nervous-driver track. Will happily spend a full lesson on one roundabout, if that is the roundabout in your head.
Dutch, English

Instructor. Teaching since 2016.
Teaches most of our intensive courses. Unbothered by the A10 at rush hour, and good at making that contagious.
Dutch, English, Arabic, French

Instructor. Teaching since 2018.
Former CBR examiner. Knows exactly what the report sheet looks for, and exactly how little it matters on the day.
Dutch, English, German

Instructor. Teaching since 2019.
Takes the refresher and motorway work. Specialises in drivers who passed abroad and find Dutch cyclists a genuine shock.

I failed twice with another school and stopped for four years. Sanne never once made me feel like the problem was me.
I had six weeks before starting a job in Utrecht. They told me honestly it would be tight, then got me through it.
Licence from Brazil, twelve years driving, and Amsterdam still terrified me. Three refresher lessons fixed what I could not.
Prices include VAT. Where a CBR fee is included we have already paid it, so the figure on this page is the figure you pay us.
30 lessons, exam included
EUR2,340
The package almost everyone finishes on. Both CBR tests are already paid for.
10 lessons
EUR715
Enough road to know whether this is for you, with nothing locked in.
4 to 6 weeks
EUR2,690
Daily blocks with your exam slot reserved before your first lesson.
Two costs are set by the CBR and are the same at every school in the Netherlands.
Lessons start and finish at your door, your office or your station. Pickup is included everywhere below, with no travel surcharge.
Exams are sat at CBR Amsterdam on the Radarweg, which is where most of your later lessons will take you anyway.
The CBR puts the national average at around EUR 3,320 including lessons. Our Complete package is EUR 2,340 with both CBR tests already inside it, so the realistic all-in figure is that plus your theory exam at EUR 50.50 and your health declaration at EUR 46.90. We will not quote you a number we cannot hold.
No. Lessons run in English, and the CBR practical exam can be taken in English for a small surcharge. Between our instructors we also cover Arabic, French and German. The theory exam is available in English too.
The tussentijdse toets is a full CBR examination with a real examiner that cannot be failed. If you perform the special manoeuvres well, you are exempt from them in the exam itself. For anxious learners it is the most useful thing we offer, which is why it is inside the Complete package rather than sold as an extra.
It is the most common thing people tell us on the phone. Our nervous-driver track uses longer, quieter lessons with no running commentary. The CBR also runs a dedicated faalangst examination with an examiner trained for it, where you can call a time-out mid-drive. We book that as standard for anyone who wants it.
Yes, and roughly one learner in six does. There is no penalty and no repackaging fee. Your remaining lessons transfer across. Switching the other way is also possible but takes longer, so we will talk it through first.
You rebook with the CBR, currently EUR 143.50 per attempt, and that fee is unavoidable. The Complete package includes a free block of retake lessons so the preparation costs you nothing. Most people who fail do so on one specific thing, and one specific thing is fixable.
Forty-five minutes at the wheel with an instructor, free, wherever suits you. No card, no package, no obligation afterwards.
We will call you before the end of the next working day to find a slot. If you would rather write, we are onhallo@koersrijschool.nl.
This is a design demonstration, so nothing was actually sent.
